Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item to 700 and also add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading due to their distinctive stats. (For example, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, including attack damage, crit probability and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with an added bonus that is activated when three or more of the same weapon are present on a single unit. This bonus may be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For example, an +2 weapon requires two regular Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative effects. Upgrades can make items impossible to use, unless you are extremely lucky.

Items of armor can also be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. This can boost the base defense of a chest or helm as well as belts and gloves. These will increase their required strength and agility. Armor has a rerolling option for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it is able to reduce its value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded and their relative values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11 attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 33% attack damage. The 3% does not mean that the weapon will hit three times less, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button in the item menu using the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and change its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor connect to the status of your account.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survival. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making traversing tough areas a breeze. In general, the greater defense you have for your character, the more health you will receive from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and in order to unlock them all, you must complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. Once you've done the main side quest and mastered the corresponding fountain and then you can speak to any Great Fairy to open up the armor upgrading menu.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. You'll need anywhere between three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers could be upgraded to +5 defense, which allows you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive the full-on assault with a few friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded in the same way as weapons, so you'll need to concentrate on upgrading it to gain physical power if you're a Warrior or Spell Power when you're a Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, such as the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you wear in the final boss fight, the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

You can also gain benefits to your armor by presenting the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. In general, you should save these upgrades for the weapon you'll be using to win the game, like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few upgrades of the chest armor and helmets that permit you to sneak past some monsters.

Potions

Potions are bottled substances that, when consumed give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five different types of potions, each with specific effects and durations.  upgrade item  can be upgraded to improve their effectiveness. Alternatively,  item upgrades  of some potions can be enhanced by adding glowstone dust or redstone to the potions.

Potion upgrades cost a specific amount of XP, which can be earned by crafting them on a table or in an chest of the Alchemist. However, the upgrade price will vary based on the type of potion you'd like to upgrade, and also on the item's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. There are also lingering potions that are brewed using dragon breath and splash potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone. The table of potion ingredients is now arranged more like the Java Edition, and new potions were added such as the potion of leaping and the potion of decomposition, and turtle master potions.

Trinkets

A trinket is a small and cheap ornament or piece of jewelry. It may be a reference to an object or decoration that serves a purpose, but is not particularly important, such as a thimble. In certain traditions, trinkets are used to signify affection or friendship, particularly between family members.

Trinkets can be upgraded by players as well as weapons and armor, as well as potions. Upgrades can be purchased by paying the appropriate currency to an upgrade vendor. In contrast to other upgrades for items trinkets, trinkets can be exchanged at will without losing their status.

The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be purchased with gold, tokens, or fragments from rare trinkets.

Upgrading a trinket is an economical alternative to buying new ones. You can upgrade a trinket with as little 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the old trinket, however, it will also come with an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

In general, players should upgrade their highest priority items first. This usually means the best-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other items of gear they won't replace soon (for instance an earring or cloak). When deciding which items to upgrade players should take into account the class's preferred stats. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tanks, they should be focusing on upgrading their helm, chest shoulders, belt, and chest.

After they've become unusable trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level. The new trinket has an additional 1percent bonus. A re-upgrade, however, can cause damage to the trinket unless it can be salvaged using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades but still cheaper than buying an entirely new trinket.
